Recycling corporate wear

As a company in the clothing industry, we believe it is important to take responsibility for the environmental impact of our production processes. We strive to minimize both the impact of production and the environmental footprint of the final product as much as possible.

Recycling of corporate wear

We achieve this by delaying the moment of disposal of our delivered products as long as possible. This is done by providing high-quality garments that have a long lifespan. Additionally, accurate forecasting and a realistic market outlook ensure that we produce only what is necessary, preventing overproduction and unnecessary waste.

How does corporate wear recycling work?

When employees leave the company or worn-out clothing needs replacing, you can return corporate wear to us for recycling. This process is simple:

  • Register the clothing via our webshop
  • Place the garments in our recycling bag, which you will receive with your first corporate wear delivery.
  • Fill the bag with used corporate wear and report the return request to our helpdesk.
  • We collect the full bags from the designated location.
  • Upon arrival at our facility, we sort the garments into reusable clothing and recyclable materials.

In 2024 alone, we recycled more than 10.110 kg of clothing!

We strive to collect both reusable and recyclable garments from every customer. However, the amount of recyclable clothing can vary from year to year. This depends on factors such as the total kilograms of clothing discarded by our customers and the amount collected by us. Over the past year, several customers have chosen to have us collect their clothing, rather than disposing of it independently.

Why recycle your corporate wear?

  • Contribute to a more sustainable world (and enhance your company's positive image)
  • Reduce waste disposal costs
  • Ultimate convenience

Reusable clothing

Workwear from employees who leave the company can be reused. By redistributing these garments to new employees, their lifespan is extended, and the purchase of new clothing is delayed. Employees can be encouraged to make this sustainable choice through a point-based system integrated into your company’s dedicated webshop.

Recyclable workwear

When workwear is no longer reusable in its original state, we collect these garments in a ‘big bag’ for our partner, Frankenhuis. We periodically deliver the big bag to this textile processing specialist, helping to reduce transport emissions as well.

Frankenhuis keeps up with the latest recycling innovations, repurposing old materials into new and usable raw materials. Currently, Frankenhuis identifies three key methods for reusing recycled textiles.

How recycled materials from our corporate wear is used

In general, recycled materials are still widely used in the non-woven industry, where they serve as insulation and filling materials. Additionally, the automotive industry makes extensive use of these recycled materials.

One innovation currently being tested by Frankenhuis is the fiberization of textiles, with the goal of developing new yarns. This process enables the production of new fabrics from recycled textiles.

A third recycling method at Frankenhuis involves processing textiles with a high cotton content into powder, which serves as a base material for new fibers.
