The Digital Product Passport
Transparency and sustainability in the supply chain are becoming increasingly important in the fashion industry. With the introduction of the Digital Product Passport (DPP), the European Union aims to encourage fashion companies to provide greater insight into the supply chain of a product. At Company Fits, we are constantly working on innovations and advancements in corporate wear production. Even though the EU will only mandate the Digital Product Passport from 2027, we are already developing and implementing this initiative. We are excited to keep you updated on our progress and will share the latest developments on this topic. Below, you will find more details about the Digital Product Passport (DPP) and its impact.
Latest news:
Over the past few months, we have been actively working on the development of the Digital Product Passport (DPP) to provide our customers with even more transparency in our supply chain. From now on, every new production of our corporate wear will include a QR code on the label. This QR code can be scanned to access an online platform with detailed product and supply chain information.

What is the Digital Product Passport (DPP)?
The Digital Product Passport provides detailed information about the origin, material composition and production process of a garment. Additionally, a DPP includes further details on washing instructions and the recycling process. This information can be accessed by scanning a QR code, which is typically found in the care label of the garment.
The benefits of a DPP for a sustainable fashion industry
The implementation of the Digital Product Passport (DPP) offers numerous advantages—both for us as a manufacturer and for our customers:
- Transparency & Awareness: The DPP provides easy access to all relevant information about a garment, increasing awareness among wearers about the production process and its environmental and social impact.
- Sustainability: As knowledge and awareness grow, more sustainable choices will be encouraged by us as a producer and potentially made by customers.
- Up-to-Date Information: The online platform hosting the DPP is modular, allowing for continuous updates and modifications, ensuring the information remains accurate and current.
- Regulations & Compliance: The DPP information helps customers comply with CSRD legislation and the Green Deal, providing insights into CO₂ emissions, factory working conditions, and raw material reuse.
- New EU Law: Starting in 2027, the EU will mandate that every garment includes a DPP. However, at Company Fits, we are ahead of the curve—we are already integrating QR codes into every new collection, allowing our customers to stay ahead of regulatory requirements.
The future of the Digital Product Passport
While the Digital Product Passport (DPP) holds great promise, it also comes with challenges, such as:
- Collaboration Among Supply Chain Partners: Ensuring accurate information requires close cooperation between all stakeholders in the supply chain.
- Reliable Technological Developments: The success of the DPP depends on robust and secure digital systems that can handle large-scale data integration.
- Clear EU Guidelines: The EU must establish concrete regulations to ensure that all fashion companies provide uniform and consistent information, maintaining transparency and reliability.
